The Microsoft Hyper-V Server R2 distribution is a bare-metal (or native) virtualisation distribution.
This distribution is delivered raw and can fully exploit the Microsoft hypervisor. It's possible to use Linux and Microsoft systems. Hyper-V Server R2 has the advantage of offering various free features like "Host Clustering" or "Live Migration".
