More than 17 years after the creation of OVH, the enterprise has launched the Digital Launch Pad to accompany innovative startups in the digital arena and permit them to benefit from reliable, flexible and apt infrastructures.
In 1999, Octave Klaba founded OVH when he was still a student at the Lille ICAM. That's how it all started for the company, which was only a startup back then. As a cloud and internet infrastructure specialist, OVH made its name as a leading partner for hundreds of thousands of professionals around the world. Structured around its own datacenters, the company designs and operates its fiber optic global network: as a result, latency is being reduced and content is carried securely.
OVH's growth was marked by many innovations. One of them is watercooling, an energy-saving method that eliminates the need for air conditioning in data centres. These savings are trickling down to all users who are hosting their date in one of OVH's 27 data centres spread across 4 continents. The company is currently working to implement 7 new data centres across Europe and the United States.
Now with more than 2,000 employees, the company is continuing its world-wide expansion while staying true to the startup spirit that fuelled its growth. As such, OVH is still keeping strong ties with local ecosystems (i.e.: Euratechnologies or the French Tech label in France) and is hosting startups in its Montreal offices. During the OVH World Tour - which takes place every year, the company has gotten into the habit of highlighting startups who chose to work with OVH such as Giroptic who hosts 360 content for its users at OVH (video) and Connit, the startup specialising in IoT (video)
On a daily basis, the company works using the agile method to remain flexible during its rapid growth. The Digital Launch Pad is the natural progression of OVH’s daily commitment to startups.
Innovation is Freedom
True to its philosophy, “Innovation is Freedom”, OVH accompanies startups by providing real added value compared to its competitors. The pricing and the technologies used by OVH are transparent and afford total freedom to startups taking part in the Digital Launch Pad program. OVH wants to provide startups access to the latest generation of technologies so that everyone can pursue their ideas and sustain their projects.
High performance and security
The OVH Cloud offers its users guaranteed and secure resources which are redundant in order to provide the highest level of service. Anti-DDoS is provided in all our datacentres, in Europe as well as North America. Each customer is also able to select the geographical location of its data.
OVH teams can tackle the technical issues associated with large groups as well as those of startups. Architects (infrastructure, network…) are able to attend to all technically complex projects. The goal of OVH is to support startups in a manner that offers an environment that is sized to their needs, both technologically and financially.
